Est. 1982, American Spoon began making preserves in a Northern Michigan storefront kitchen. Founders Justin Rashid and Chef Larry Forgione dreamed of a livelihood harvesting the bounty of the farms and woodlands of Northern Michigan. Decades later, the skilled crew still prepares fruit by hand and cooks with care in small-batch copper kettles. Working directly with a dedicated group of Michigan farmers and foragers who grow and gather the unique varieties of fruit to find, capture, and preserve uniquely regional flavors. This sweet and savory jam features chunks of sweet Michigan Northern Spy apples and deeply caramelized onions, scented with thyme and balsamic vinegar.
